The 3rd International Conference on Vinaya, organized by Sera Jey Monastic University, is scheduled for three days – 16, 17 & 19 December 2017. The Inauguration Ceremony was held today morning of 16 December, 2017.
Representatives of following Buddhist traditions - India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Taiwan and Tibet are participating in this 3rd edition of International Conference on Vinaya.

Sera Jey Monastery's new Disciplinarian (Dean) instatement ceremony was held on Gaden Ngamcho (Lama Tsong Khapa Day) as per the traditional monastic custom and practice. Geshe Chime Tsering, the new elected Disciplinarian took over the charge from his predcessor Geshe Sonam Dorjee.

The Lharam Geshe Graduation Ceremony for the year 2017 is scheduled from 24 - 27 November 2017. Thirteen candidates are receiving the Lharam Geshe title, Doctrate in Buddhist Philosophy, in this year Lharam Geshe graduation. It is the highest monastic scholatic spanning twenty four years of extensive studies and practice.

Students and staff of Sera Jey IGNOU study group convened on 23 November 2017 for a formal appointment ceremony of two news staffs. The monastery's abbot (Khen Rinpoche) gave the students guidance and advise on maintaining their perserverance to the main monastic curriculum besides the extra academic pursuit.

The Gunling (winter Lingse) Geshe Graduation Ceremony for the year 2017 is shceduled from 9th - 11th November 2017. Nine candidates received their Lingse Geshe titel during this three day graduation ceremony.
