Sera Jey Monastery's Geshe Rigram Graduation Ceremony for the year 2017 was conducted on 13th and 14th of July 2017. Eight candidates received the Geshe Rigram title during the two day graduation ceremony.

.The inaugural ceremony of the newly established Sera Jey Foundation is to be held on July 15, 2017. Sera Jey Monastery distributed its 3rd annual Scholarship in gratitude to His Holiness The Dalai Lama (Kadren Jedren) for Higher Education to poor and needy students from the two Tibetan settlements of Bylakuppe. This scholarship was commenced in 2015 with 15 students for a term duration of 3 years.

On 24th June 2017, His Holiness The Dalai Lama officially designated Jangtse Choeje Rinpoche Lobsang Tenzin from Sera Jey Monastery, the 104th Gaden Tripa of the Gelukpa Tradition.
