Yarling Geshe Ceremony Apr2018The Geshe Yar-Lingse Graduation Ceremony for the year 2018 is scheduled from 27th - 29th April, 2018. Nine candidates will be receiving the Geshe Yar-Lingse scholastic title during the three day graduation ceremony.

Inauguration of SJTC 26Apr2018Sera Jey Tashi Choeling Centre was inaugurated on 26 April 2018. Sera Jey Khen Rinpoche & Khensur Rinpoche graced the consecration and inauguration ceremony. The inauguration ceremony was attended by TPIE member Pema Delek, former TPIE - Geshe Thupten Phelgye, Department of Home Secretary - CTA, The Chief Representative of South Zone Tibetan Settlements, and Representatives of two Bylakuppe settlement.

The Centre will be an institute majoring on Buddhist Philosophy, Tibetan Language and Ethics Beyond Religion as an academic discipline, open to all non-ordained Buddhist monks/nuns irrespective of gender, religion and nationality/race.

The 20th Administration Committe of Sera Jey has initiated and completed this project in line with the noble vision of His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama on introducing Buddhist Philosophy as an academic discipline which can be studied by any individual from walks of life, as Buddhist philosophy is more of an Science of the Mind than religion.

visiting members from TU KBS Apr2018Sera Jey Monastic University received visitors from Tumkur University and Karnataka Buddha Samaja on 24th April 2018. The visitors were introduced to the different departments of the monastic institute, had an audience with the abbot and were also given an introductory talk on the monastic institute and Buddhism in general.

Geshe Tsokhram Mar2018The Tsokhram Geshe Graduation Ceremony for the year 2018 is held from 16 - 18 March, 2018. There are 10 candidates who will be receiving the Tsokhram Geshe during this graduation ceremony.

Hayagriva Retreat Mar2018Sera Jey monastery’s annual Haya-griva Retreat has commenced on 4th March 2018 and will continue till 15th March 2018, for a period of twelve days.

The first day, 4th March 2018, was the invocation ceremony and the last day, 15th March 2018, will be Haya-griva Fire Puja and Tsog Offering to conclude the retreat.

The Haya-Griva Retreat is specially dedicated for the long life of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, and all living Buddhas and for betterment of world peace, happiness, wellbeing and prosperity of all sentient beings.

The Retreat also dedicates for our Monastery’s Ex and present Abbots, Geshes, Tulkus and monks for removal of all obstacles in their pursuit to attaining the highest spiritual path.

Devotees are welcome to participate in the retreat.
