The annual Writing Exam for the academic year 2017-18 is scheduled from 26th & 27th of January 2018. Pupils of respective classes writes this examination as per the course syllabus.

Sera Jey Bangalore Buddhist Society celebrated Pongal Festival on 14th January 2018. Members of Society from the local community attended to celebrate Tamilian's major festival - Pongal. Monks from Sera Jey Monastery peformed prayer ceremonies and Tamilian members recited Buddhist prayers in Pali.

His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama gave a Public Talk on "Relevance of Universal Ethics for the Modern World" at Tumkur University, Tumkur on 26 December 2017. The event is jointly organized by Sera Jey Monastic University and Tumkur University, as part of its various programs under the Memorandum of Understanding. This public talk by His Holiness is specifically organized to make avail His Holiness The Dalai Lama's esteemed message of ancient Indian values, its essence and relevance to the present modern time. Several hundred school and college students alongside factulties, intellectuals and dignitaries attended His Holiness listened to His Holiness message with utmost respect and rapture; His Holiness answered to many questions from several school students and other attendees.
