The Annual Prize Distribution for the year 2017 was held on 2nd & 3rd June 2017 during debate sessions. The Board of Examination presided the ceremony and Khen Rinpoche (monastery’s abbot) presented the award.  Prizes were awarded to the highest merit achiever candidate of each respective classes.  

The Tsi-shag Ceremony for the academic year 2017 was held on 27th May 2017, presided by Khen Rinpoche (the monastery's abbot). Respective class present a recitation on one of their course topics, prologued by the abbot.  The Gekue (Dean / Disiciplinarian) announces the list of candidates selected for the Rigchung and Rigchen Debate Ceremony during the ceremony.

Sera Jey (Abbot) Khen Rinpoche Logoan Tulku Tenzin Jampa Choesang resumed his Lamrim Teachings to pupils of Sera Jey for a couple of days in mid May 2017.  Every abbot grant the Lamrim Teachings to pupil monks during their abbotship tenure.  The teachings are given during morning debate sessions at convenient intervals.   

Two venerable monks - Jampa Kalden and Lobsang Dorjee, from Sera Jey Monastery were delegated to preside and perform prayer offerings at Karumadi Kuttan site, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha District, Kerala during Buddha Purnima on 10 May 2017, under the organization by Buddha Sangham Keralam of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Sera Jey Monastery has been delegating two monks every year on behalf of Buddha Sangham Keralam, to preside Buddha Purnima ceremony at Kerala for the past several years.
