Sera Jey Monastery organized a special Monlam Prayer Ceremony on 10th April 2019 evening in dedication for the good recovery and long life of His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama. The monlam prayer ceremony was attended by the entire monk community of Sera Jey Monastery. On 15th April, Yamantaka Self Empowerment ceremony was performed by senior monks of Sera Jey, for His Holiness welbeing and long life.

Geshe Lobsang Monlam, founder of Monlam IT Research Centre and Monlam Tibetan font, dictionary, gave a series of introduction and presentations on Monlam Dictionary and its applications in three different sessions that covered scholars, department heads, representatives and student monks.

At IGNOU'S (Indra Gandhi National Open University) 32nd Convocation held on 3rd April 2019 at IGNOU Bangalore Regional Chapter, four student monks from Sera Jey Monastery have received Bachelor of Arts graduation degree. Two student monks, Ven. Sonam Phuntsok and Ven. Paljor who were able to participate were felicitated at the convocation.

Sera Jey Monastery's new Administrator (Chief Secretary) paid his first visit to Tumkur University. He was accompanied by the Education Director and team. The administrator and team had a formal meeting with the Vice Chancellor and respective coordinators from Tumku University. A follow up for the academic year's exchange program / activities was discussed and finalized.

The annual Hayagriva Retreat and Fire Puja Ceremony, one of monastery's major rituals held each year, is scheduled from 9th - 20th March 2019. Entire member monk community - students and elders, participate the retreat with great reverence, dedicating to the long life of His Holiness The Dalai Lama, living Buddhas, abbot & former abbots, lamas, Geshes and pupil monks for success in accomplishing ones philosophical studies, for peace and prosperity of monastery's patrons, sponsors, devotees and all other sentient beings.
