Two student monks from Sera Jey Science Centre, Ven Jampa Soepa and Jampa Thakchoe
participated at the Exchange Program with University of Pisa, Italy and University of Groningen, Netherlands, during July – August 2023.

At University of Pisa they had the privilege to learn and study on EEG and other aspects related to meditation research. The two also gave talk on level of consciousness and meditation in Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and introduction about Sera Jey Monastic University and its curriculum.

Besides, they had the privilege to visit the lab of Professor Henrik at Freiburg, Germany, between July 24-26, and study about EEG and data collection, and held discussions on consciousness and meditation. They had the opportunity to explore Olaf Blanke's lab in Switzerland from August 4th – 6th, and make observations about their research on illusion and mind and body relation. They also shared insights through a talk on consciousness and led guided meditation sessions.
