On the morning of 25th August 2022, the official handing over ceremony of His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s “Letter of Appointment Decree” of Sera Jey Monastery’s 77th Abbot, by the monastery’s Chief Administrator to the new appointed Abbot Drati Geshe Tashi Tsethar
was held at the latter’s private residence. The ceremony was attended by the monastery’s Chief Disciplinarian, Chant Master, Sera Lachi Administrators, Sera Jey Administrators, Khangtsen Masters and Department Heads.

The official enthronement (investure) ceremony of the new 77th Abbot and Chairman of the Monastery will be held at the Monastery’s Main Prayer Hall on 10th Sept 2022 .
