On 16th July 2026, Sera Jey Monastery 12th Kadren Jedren Higher Education Scholarship for needy students were granted to 29 Tibetan students from the two Tibetan Settlements of Bylakuppe and to eight students from local Indian community, for the academic year 2026-27. Sera Jey Monastery’s Abbot, Khen Rinpoche Geshe Tashi Tsethar, the Chief Guest, presented the scholarship grant to respective students, in the presence of Guest of Honour – Mr. Gelek Jugney, Representative of Lugsam Tibetan Settlement of Bylakuppe, and Mr. J.P. Urs. President of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society of Bylakuppe Chapter, in the presence of Chief Disciplinarian, Chant Master, Chief Administrator, respective Department & Khangtsen Heads and concerned Staffs.
